TIPS 'N TRIPS - Athens, where ancient meets modern

The capital and largest city in Greece, you’ll be astonished by the amount of ancient history and culture it has. But fear not, it’s also full of life, with buzzing bars and cool restaurants. Major plus, being on the coastline you can also enjoy a nice day at the beach and the most amazing sea.

#1 Nolan

Greek with a twist, all thanks to the chef’s Greek and Japanese heritage that has a huge influence on his plates creating a unique type of fusion. An explosion of taste that led him straight to the world’s 50 best. Based on a sharing concept, the plates are so good you’re gonna be wanting to try out the whole menu, hence why we came back the next day again. Our must have’s? The green bean salad and their  steamed buns😋

#2 Athènèe Athens

Cutest lunch, brunch or dinner spot, Athénée is the Greek version of a high end Brasserie, with a wide array of typical and international options on the menu (including sushi). Plus it’s a literal a 1 min walk from Attica, which can be considered the Greek version of Selfridges, we consider that stop our job training, anyways you will be needing food after a good shopping session!

#3 Ithaki (Ιθάκη)

Located in the best spot of the Athenian riviera, Ithaki simply has the most breathtaking view. The food also has nothing to envy to the view, with a wide array of Mediterranean options. We went for fish, but we’re sure the meat is just as tasty! You can enjoy your meal as the sound of the waves relax your senses, and if it’s warm enough you might also be able to have a little dip in the sea!

#4 BlueFish Vouliagmeni

Beach please! Also located in the best part of the Athenian riviera. Stunning menu with both typical and contemporary options. As always we’d recommend the fish. Blue Fish also has a terrace right besides the sea, so feel free to have a dip between plates!

#5 Jimmy’s Fish

Nothing beats some good Aegean fish! Here at Jimmy’s you will find all the plates from Greek tradition and some of the best fish in Athens. Super close to Athen’s naval port, you will be able to have your lunch or dinner with an amazing sea view.

#6 Elaia Restaurant (Eλαία)

A truly typical restaurant has to be on the guide as per always. Here at Elaia you will find all the most traditional Greek plates, and you will also be able to sit on their terrace with a view of the historic city center.

#7 Parc•sitele

Ok, as some wise man once said “you can take the girl out of Italy, but you can’t Italy out of the girl”… So ofc we had to stop by and have some pizza! Here at Practice-Sitele the make it the proper Italian way thanks to their wood oven. Honestly, if you just want to feel like home make sure you stop by!
