TIPS N’ TRIPS - Barcelona, year-round sunshine

A city that stands out: beautiful landscaped, Gaudì’s splendid architecture and charming beach. In addition to that, they also have great party vibes, amazing food and year-round sunshine. Here is eclectic guide to it, and for the non foodies here, don’t worry we will be focusing also on shopping and art.

FOOD

#1 Cañete

A classic spot that simply can’t be missed. Fresh ingredients and an excellent execution of all of your typical foods, we highly recommend their croquetas and their perfectly salted pan con tomate. Great for groups but also don’t hesitate to bring a date, their counter seats overview a small portion of their kitchen. Also please just follow the advice given by their sign ‘Fuck your diet’: go hungry and leave happy :)

#2 Fismuler

Sister restaurant to the Madrid one, they are located walking distance from the Arc de Triomphe, they have delightful food and incredible ambience. The menu is seasons based, so the ingredients are constantly changed to keep their recipes fresh and up to date. Highlight of our experience their omelette and their lentils, they might sound basic but they absolutely know to elevate the taste to a top notch. Also please order their Cheesecake, it is literally to DIE FOR.

#3 Pez Vela

An upgrade to your classic Barceloneta chiringuito, located right below W world wide famous sail shaped hotel, Pez Vela knows how to keep your stomach happily full. Highlight of their menu their paella’s, that comes with a wide array of different flavors. Also please make sure to get a hold on their sangria, there is no better combo for an afternoon by the beach.

#4 Tragazul

Elegant and chic, mother restaurant of the group that also owns Pez Vela. The menu has some Italian influences and trust an Italian the chefs know what they are doing. Please go ahead and enjoy their warm focaccia followed by a good old plate of pasta.

#5 Caravelle

Bruch has never been so good. Caravelle doesn’t accept any reservations so make sure you are ready to queue up together with your friends. The menu isn’t that big, but as all plates are incredibly tasty we would recommend sharing them amongst your group of friends, just don’t miss out on the pancakes.

#5 Jacqueline

Sexy interiors and stunning vibes thanks to their live music show during dinner upstairs. The food is not that great but if you are looking for a fun night they are the best. Also make sure you check out their downstairs club after dinner to shake some calories away while jamming to house music.

ART

#1 Picasso Museum

Pablo you have my heart. Being one of my favorite artists this first spot might be slightly biased, but with that in mind I do absolutely recommend you visiting his museum for two main reasons: first of all the paintings and sculptures were donated by the artists himself to the city of Barcelona, hence why of the second reason, you will find a wide selection of paintings that start from his young years and go through all of his phases. It gives a great overview of how he developed and groomed as an artists thought time.

#2 Park Güell

If you have seen Cheetah Girls in your life you know exactly what we’re talking about. Make your inner kid happy and pay a visit to Park Güell, a UNESCO world heritage site one of the stunning works of Antonì Gaudì. Great architecture and a whole lot of nature.

#3  La Sagrada Familia

Without a doubt one of the most iconic spots in the city. But we would suggest something different, just to avoid the tourists, go grab a drink at Tope, a Mexican rooftop bar and restaurant that has the prettiest view of the city located inside the Hoxoton hotel in Poblenou. And come on, who doesn’t love some guac and chips while watching the sunset overlooking the Sagrada?

FASHION

#1 Palo Market Fest

We love some good old vintage pieces, and we know you do too, so if you’re in the city the first weekend of the month make sure to check Palo Market Fest out. They have a small yet well selected number of vintage and small fashion and accessories brands where you will find great additions to your wardrobe. A great add on is their beer bar and small street food selection in order to keep the boys occupied while you do some shopping.
